Pak-EPA enforcement team carried out a focused operation in the City Circle of Islamabad specially Javed Market, Café Irum market, Ollah Market, New Aabpara Market, Maktaba Islamia and Aabpara Market

Islamabad, September 16, 2024 –Pak-EPA enforcement team carried out a focused operation in the City Circle of Islamabad specially Javed Market, Café Irum market, Ollah Market, New Aabpara Market, Maktaba Islamia and Aabpara Market, to enforce the Single Use Plastics (Prohibition) Regulations, 2023.

Operation Team confiscated a 50 KG of single-use plastics items and 25 KG of polythene bags. Warnings were issued to the twenty shopkeepers found in violation of the regulations. Additionally, DG Pak-EPA joined the team and educated the public and local business men about the plastic regulations and their importance for environmental protection.

The crackdown is part of a broader initiative to reduce the use of plastic and promote sustainable practices across the Islamabad.
