On May 14. 2025, a joint operation was conducted by the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration in the Nilor Circle area, including Tramri Chowk and Lehtrar Road. The operation was led by Mr. Muhammad Rashid Cheema, Assistant Director Pak-EPA, and Area Magistrate Mr. Zeeshan Babar. During the raid, More then 250 kg of prohibited single-use plastic material was confiscated and taken into EPA custody. 05 shops, including Save Mart, were sealed, while 04 others were fined, total tune of RS 30000 has been imposed and 26 Warnings were issued to the seller's .

This action is part of Pak-EPA’s ongoing enforcement of the Single-Use Plastic Prohibition Act. The operation also aimed to raise public awareness among local residents regarding the harmful impact of plastic pollution. As a result, five shopkeepers were also arrested for non-compliance with the law and resistance. The authorities reaffirm their commitment to eliminating plastic pollution and ensuring a cleaner, greener Islamabad.
