Enforcement Action Against Single-Use Plastic Bags at Khanna Pul Market, Islamabad.
Enforcement Team of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) conducted an inspection at Khanna Pul Market, Islamabad, on 19 January 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to enforce the ban on single-use plastic bags in the Islamabad Capital Territory. During the inspection, inspection team identified violations of the plastic bag prohibition regulations. Approximately 50 kilograms of single-use plastic bags were confiscated from various vendors. Warning notices were issued to violators, directing them to immediately cease the use, sale, and distribution of banned plastic bags and to adopt environmentally friendly alternatives. Pak-EPA will continue regular inspections and enforcement actions across markets and commercial areas to ensure effective implementation of environmental regulations.
