Pak-EPA Conducts Environmental Inspection of Fecto Cement Pvt. Ltd. in Compliance with Supreme Court Directions

In compliance with the directions of the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan, a team from the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) conducted an environmental inspection visit to Fecto Cement Pvt. Ltd. and its surrounding rural areas.
During the visit, the team thoroughly examined general and specific environmental attributes of the factory and nearby localities to assess compliance with the National Environmental Quality Standards (NEQS). Environmental samples were collected for detailed laboratory analysis at the Pak-EPA facility.
The complainant was also requested to join the inspection, where his concerns were heard attentively and correlated with on-ground environmental conditions. The team inspected the route of a torrential stream—completely dried at the time of visit—that crosses a damaged road section. Additionally, the quarry site was examined, where accumulated rainwater was observed in natural depressions.
The team also reviewed the plantation carried out under the approved tree plantation plan.  Pak-EPA remains steadfast in fulfilling its mandate to ensure environmental protection and sustainable development in Islamabad and surrounding regions.
