Pak-EPA team visited three different hospitals and inspected their waste management practices
On April 29, 2025, the Pak-EPA team visited three different hospitals and inspected their waste management practices. The team strictly instructed hospital staff to properly separate infectious and non-infectious waste. All infectious waste must be safely incinerated. During the visit, the hospital incinerators were checked, and their filtration systems were observed to ensure they were functioning properly and not emitting excessive black smoke. The EPA team also monitored for any environmental concerns. This inspection was part of Pak-EPA’s efforts to enforce the Hospital Waste Management Rules, 2005, across all hospitals in Islamabad. These inspections play an important role in promoting environmental safety and public health by ensuring that hospitals manage their waste responsibly and in line with national regulations.
