The meeting's agenda included discussions on lab manipulation, field trials, and commercialization of GM crops and import of GM soybean for Food, Feed, or for Processing (FFP) in Pakistan. During today’s meeting, a total of 06 cases of laboratory manipulation works, 01 case of field trial permission and 01 case for commercialization of GM crop was presented to TAC for technical review. A particular highlight of the discussions was the in-depth evaluation of cases concerning the import of GM Soybean for FFP. TAC will forward its recommendations to the National Biosafety Committee (NBC) about all the cases, marking a significant step forward in advancing biosafety regulations in Pakistan.
