Pak-EPA Collaborates with Coca-Cola Pakistan and Capital Development Authority (CDA) for Tree Plantation Drive in Islamabad
Islamabad, 7 May 2026: The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA), in collaboration with Coca-Cola Pakistan and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), organized a tree plantation drive at F-6/3 Park, Islamabad, under the “Upscaling Green Pakistan Programme” of the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination. As part of the initiative, 5,000 indigenous trees were contributed to support the Government’s efforts aimed at enhancing urban green cover, mitigating environmental degradation, reducing emissions, and promoting climate resilience in the country. The plantation ceremony was attended by the Dr. Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, Ms. Aisha Humera Ch., Secretary, MoCC & EC, Mr. Sunay Sanil, General Manager, Coca-Cola Icecek (CCI), Dr. Faisal Hashmi, Senior Director, Coca-Cola Pakistan, senior officials of Pak-EPA and CDA, along with citizens and youth volunteers. In addition, paintings competition was organized on a theme on “Islamabad the beautiful “by the students of schools. The paintings were appreciated by the Minister as well as other participants of the event. Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Minister highlighted the importance of large-scale plantation initiatives for environmental sustainability and climate resilience. He emphasized that the Government remains committed not only to tree plantation activities but also to ensuring the protection, maintenance, and long-term survival of planted trees by Geo-tagging. The Minister appreciated the contribution of Coca-Cola Pakistan towards environmental sustainability and encouraged greater participation of corporate organizations in supporting national climate and environmental initiatives. Pak-EPA reiterated its commitment to promoting collaborative environmental actions and strengthening partnerships with public and private sector organizations for achieving a cleaner, greener, and sustainable Pakistan.
