Pak-EPA Enforcement Team Cracked Down on Single-Use Plastic in Islamabad.
Islamabad, October 03, 2024 - On the directions of the Director General Pak-EPA the Enforcement Team III & V of Pak-EPA conducted a field operation against single-use plastic items in Rural Zone ICT, PWD, Soan Garden Islamabad. During the inspection, the team visited local bakeries, wholesale plastic bags shops, cash-and-carry stores, and confiscating approximately 100 kilograms of Single Use polythene bags. The Team issued 4 warnings to the local consumers and Shop owners. This action is part of Pak-EPA's ongoing efforts to enforce the Single-Use Plastic (Prohibition) Regulations 2023 within the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) limits. The Enforcement Teams of Pak-EPA are actively visiting different zones of Islamabad to ensure compliance with the regulations and prevent the use of harmful single-use plastic items. This initiative aims to protect the environment and promote sustainable practices in the capital city. Pak-EPA urges all stakeholders, including businesses and citizens, to cooperate in implementing the single-use plastic ban and adopt eco-friendly alternatives.
