Pak-EPA Enforces Environmental Laws on Humak Industries

09-09-2025: Under the direction of the Director General of Pak-EPA, Miss Nazia Zaib Ali, the Environmental Enforcement Team of Pak-EPA conducted inspections of ten industrial units located in the Humak Industrial Area, Islamabad.

The purpose of the visit was to assess compliance with the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997, along with the rules and regulations made thereunder. During the inspection, it was observed that none of the industries had obtained the mandatory environmental approvals as required under Section 12 of the Act, 1997. Furthermore, none of the units had Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), except for one unit, which despite having an EMP, failed to submit the required environmental compliance reports.

Consequently, notices for non-compliance under Section 16(1) of the Act, 1997, were issued to all ten units.

The inspected industries included Capital Feed Mill, BM Steel Mill, Highrise Telecommunication, Paramount Lighting, Life Plus Hygienic Diapers Factory, Ashraf Foods, Kashmir United Flour and General Mill, and Jadeed Poultry Farm.
