Pak-EPA Conducts Enforcement Visit of Marble Factories in Sector B-17, Islamabad
Islamabad, October 29, 2025 As per the directions of the Director General, Pak-EPA, Miss Nazia Zaib Ali, the Environmental Enforcement Team of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) conducted an enforcement visit of marble factories located near Sector B-17, Islamabad.
The visit aimed to assess compliance with the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997, and the Rules and Regulations framed thereunder.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of a magistrate. It was observed that several units had failed to comply with prior notices issued by the competent authority as directed by the Honorable Islamabad High Court.
In response to these violations, four marble factories were sealed for persistent non-compliance, and Environmental Protection Orders (EPOs) were issued under the relevant provisions of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997.
The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency reiterates its commitment to ensuring strict enforcement of environmental laws and urges all industrial units to adopt environmentally sustainable practices in line with national environmental standards.
