Environmental Monitoring Team Inspects Healthcare Facilities in F-10 Markaz, Islamabad
Pak-EPA's Environmental Monitoring Team (EMT) inspected five healthcare facilities in F-10 Markaz and F-11 Islamabad, including Excel Labs, IDC, Shifa International Labs, SARF Hospital and Maroof International Hospital, to assess hospital waste management practices per Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.
Most facilities complied with EPA standards, effectively using color-coded bins and proper segregation and storage protocols. However, Maroof International Hospital was found non-compliant due to inadequate waste segregation. The EMT is working with the hospital administration to address these issues promptly.
Pak-EPA remains committed to ensuring sustainable waste management in healthcare facilities to protect public health and the environment.
